Alfred Sisley (1839–1899, Paris) was a British-French Impressionist painter who spent nearly his entire life in France. Devoted almost exclusively to landscape, he is known for his sensitive depictions of rivers, skies, and the countryside around Paris, and is regarded as one of the most consistent and purely dedicated painters of the Impressionist movement.
