Arman (1928–2005) was a French-American artist, born Armand Fernandez in Nice, who became a founding member of the Nouveau Réalisme movement. He is best known for his "Accumulations," assemblages of massed identical objects, and his "Colères," works made by slicing or smashing objects, both of which reframed everyday consumer goods as art.
