Aya Takano (born 1976, Saitama) is a Japanese painter, manga artist, and writer associated with the Superflat movement. A protégée of Takashi Murakami and represented by his Kaikai Kiki studio, she is known for dreamlike scenes of doe-eyed, elongated young women set in surreal, science-fiction-inflected worlds rendered in delicate line and luminous colour.
