Camille Pissarro (1830–1903) was a Danish-French painter and a founding figure of Impressionism, the only artist to exhibit in all eight Impressionist exhibitions. Born in the Danish West Indies, he is known for luminous landscapes of the French countryside and Parisian cityscapes, and he mentored artists including Cézanne and Gauguin.
