Christo and Jeanne-Claude were an artist duo—Christo (1935–2020), born in Bulgaria, and Jeanne-Claude (1935–2009), born in Morocco to a French family—known for their large-scale environmental installations. Working together for decades, they temporarily wrapped and transformed landmarks and landscapes, including the Reichstag, the Pont-Neuf, and Surrounded Islands in Miami, financing the projects entirely themselves.
