Chuang Che (born 1934, Beijing) is a Chinese-American painter and a pioneer of Chinese abstract art. A principal member of Taiwan's avant-garde Fifth Moon Group, he fuses the gestural language of Abstract Expressionism with the brushwork and spirit of traditional Chinese calligraphy and landscape. He settled in the United States in 1973 and lives in New York.
