Günther Uecker
Günther Uecker (1930–2025) was a German artist associated with the ZERO group, the avant-garde movement centred in Düsseldorf in the late 1950s. Born in Wendorf, he is best known for his nail reliefs, in which fields of hammered nails create rhythmic patterns of light and shadow. He also worked with kinetic and light-based installations throughout his long career.
