Gedi Sibony

Gedi Sibony (b. 1973, New York City) is an American artist acclaimed for his understated sculptures and installations that transform found and everyday materials—such as plywood, cardboard, carpet, and metal pipes—into poetic explorations of space, balance, and material presence. Drawing on a minimalist sensibility, Sibony arranges his works sparingly, allowing the inherent qualities of his chosen objects to reveal subtle relationships between form, environment, and viewer. His practice emphasizes reuse, transparency, and the beauty of bare essentials, often evoking a quiet, contemplative atmosphere. Sibony has exhibited internationally, with solo shows at Greene Naftali in New York, Mister Fahrenheit, The Douglas Hyde Gallery in Dublin, and Culturgest in Lisbon, and his work is held in major public collections including the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Guggenheim Museum. He lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
