Joan Miró (1893-1983) was a Spanish Catalan painter, sculptor, and ceramicist associated with Surrealism. He is celebrated for a highly personal visual language of biomorphic forms, floating signs, and bright primary colours, which he applied across painting, printmaking, and large-scale public works throughout a long and influential career.
