John Piper (1903–1992) was an English painter, printmaker, and designer of stained glass and theatre sets. After early experiments with abstraction, he became a leading figure of British Neo-Romanticism, known for atmospheric depictions of the British landscape, churches, and country houses, as well as his modern stained-glass windows.
