Marino Marini (1901–1980) was an Italian sculptor, born in Pistoia. He is best known for his stylised bronze equestrian figures, in which the recurring theme of horse and rider evolved from serene classicism toward increasingly fragmented, anguished forms. Also active as a painter and printmaker, he is regarded as one of the foremost Italian sculptors of the twentieth century.
