Raoul Dufy (1877–1953) was a French painter associated with the Fauvist movement. He is best known for his brightly colored, decorative scenes of leisure and coastal life—regattas, racecourses, and seaside views—rendered in a light, calligraphic style. He also worked as a designer of textiles, ceramics, and book illustrations.
