Sanford Biggers (born 1970, Los Angeles) is an American conceptual artist whose multidisciplinary practice spans painting, sculpture, video, performance, and music. He is known for reworking antique quilts—objects linked to the Underground Railroad—into new compositions, and for work that engages African American history, memory, and contemporary social and political themes.
