Sol LeWitt (1928–2007) was an American artist and a founding figure of both Conceptual and Minimal art. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, he is best known for his wall drawings, executed from written instructions, and his modular geometric structures. His influential writings, including 'Paragraphs on Conceptual Art', helped define the movement's emphasis on idea over execution.
