Yan Pei-Ming (born 1960, Shanghai) is a Chinese-French painter who has lived and worked in Dijon, France, since 1980. He is best known for his monumental, gesturally brushed portraits, often rendered in stark black, white, and grey, of subjects ranging from Mao Zedong to anonymous figures, historical icons, and his own family.
