Yayoi Kusama (born 1929, Matsumoto, Japan) is a contemporary Japanese artist working across painting, sculpture, and installation, best known for her immersive Infinity Mirror Rooms and her signature polka-dot and net motifs. Associated with Pop art, Minimalism, and the postwar avant-garde, she rose to prominence in New York during the 1960s and remains among the most widely exhibited living artists.
