Yue Minjun
Yue Minjun (born 1962, Daqing, China) is a Chinese contemporary painter and sculptor associated with the Cynical Realism movement that emerged in China after 1989. He is best known for his brightly coloured images of frozen, hysterically laughing figures modelled on his own face, works that offer a satirical commentary on contemporary Chinese society. He lives and works in Beijing.
